The Germany Reunion held Bielefeld, the weekend 25th - 27th November 2022.
We were a small band of folk (a few dropped out at last minute due to unforeseen circumstances), but we drank to absent friends and certainly made a good job of having a ball. Robbie Astick and Mick Hutchinson arrived on Friday and met up with Tim Matthews, Tony Meek, Hauke Michelsen and me.
After having browsed through the Christmas market through the Bielefelder Altstadt, we met in the Irish bar for a warmer before moving to the Alte Brauhaus just round the corner. What a great venue and great food. It was served with large pitchers of tasty local Brauhaus beer. It was a friday and was also the first day of the Christmas market season, so the town was buzzing with a party atmosphere and the Brauhaus was one huge party. We then went back to the Irish bar which was also buzzing but great fun (Hauke asked for a Swedish whiskey in an Irish bar) what a mistake!!.... the next day was a day of rest to say the least.
Saturday night we all met at the Glück und Seligkeit restaurant at 7pm. It is a large de-consecrated church, converted into a very unique and smart location with top class service and food. Of course, being ACs, we certainly fitted in and being accompanied by our partners which made it all the more special. It was great that Rich Nichol could also join us all the way from Denmark. He realised that he missed out on the Friday night and is making sure that will not happen again.
